Georgian Gold Diamond Coral Earrings
Gorgeous Georgian (c.1830) carved coral earrings with gold, silver and old cut diamond tops. While the tops and hooks are gold, the diamonds are set into silver which was used during this period to bring out the best in the diamonds (platinum and white gold not having been invented yet!).
No hallmark as is common with this age of jewellery (hallmarking not mandatory in the UK until 1973) but tests as at least 9ct.
Length of each earring: 7cm including hook. Weight of each: approx 5g.
