Does it come with a certificate of authenticity?
There is no such thing as a 'certificate of authenticity' for antique jewellery (unless we printed one ourselves on the computer!) - the nearest thing would be a valuation for insurance purposes which would need to be carried out by a registered valuer.
So the answer is no because this would significantly increase the price. We're in the business of keeping prices down because that's what savvy internet shoppers are looking for.
However, for your peace of mind, under Australian law, if anything that you purchase online is not significantly as described, you are entitled to a complete refund. Your local office of fair trading website will have more advice on this.
Our advice is that if you're not convinced the item is genuine, get it checked out by your local jeweller who will be able to confirm what the materials are. Be aware though that most high street jewellery shops in Australia do not have experience of antique jewellery and beware of any jewellery shop that offers you money to 'take it off your hands' (unless it's a good price!) - they've usually just spotted a bargain!
